In partnership with Ezili's Respite Farm & Sanctuary we hosted 7 teens and 3 adults from @C2Clubhouse in Catskill, NY.
Grateful to have hosted this amazing and talented group of young people along side our elders.
“Having our elders here was both inspiring and moving. It was a beautiful acknowledgement of the importance of multi-generational living, both for young people and for our elders. It served as a reminder to both that maturity and playfulness are important to live a joyful and meaningful life.”
Hosting our first event of the season was an adventure! The Clubhouse group from Catskill, NY needed a place for their summer retreat after their first location was damaged during the flooding in July. We responded to their posting and moved into high gear to get our sites ready for their group.
It was beautiful to have our elders here with us to share in the experience. Both Roberto and Nina’s mothers, Marya and Alva, were here and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know the talented young people we hosted. Harold, Konhsu X’s father, came to visit during the week long event and shared stories of his time in the military, his experiences on the farm with Khonsu and Titan, and his exercise routine to keep his body moving!

Building a campfire
Roberto and the teens creating kindling to start a night time campfire.
The evenings around the campfire were a good time to talk, share stories, and answer questions like "What super power would you choose, why, and what would you do with it?"
They came to "rest, recharge, and deepen into their own sense of empowered leadership." Khonsu X
